Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Last updated: June 2026

01 Overview

๐Ÿ™ The short version: we only collect what we need to give you a good experience. We don't sell your data. We don't share it without your consent. Your faith journey is yours.

Praycer ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our website at praycer.com and our mobile application (together, "the Service").

By using Praycer, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

02 What we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Waitlist sign-up: your first name and email address when you join our waitlist.
  • Survey responses: any answers you provide in our pre-launch survey. These may be anonymous or attributed depending on how you complete the survey.
  • Account information (when the app launches): name, email address, and password.
  • Prayer journal entries: any text you write inside the app. This is private to your account by default.
  • Community content: any prayer requests or posts you choose to share publicly in the app's community feed.

Information collected automatically

  • Fitness data: steps, distance, and calories burned during a prayer walk session. This is collected via Apple HealthKit and only with your explicit permission.
  • Usage data: how you interact with the app, which features you use, session durations, and crash reports. This helps us improve the product.
  • Device information: device type, operating system version, and app version.
  • Location data: approximate location may be used to personalise features such as local weather during walks. We never store your precise location history.

03 How we use it

We use the information we collect to:

  • Send you waitlist and launch updates you've opted into
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Praycer app and website
  • Personalise your experience, such as remembering your prayer focus or walk preferences
  • Analyse usage patterns to understand what's working and what needs improving
  • Respond to your questions, feedback, or support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

Praycer displays advertisements within the app and website. To serve relevant ads, we work with advertising partners who may use data such as your general usage patterns, device type, and approximate location to personalise the ads you see. We do not sell your personal data outright, but our advertising partners operate under their own privacy policies. You can opt out of personalised advertising in your account settings once the app launches.

04 Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Advertising partners: we work with third-party ad networks to display advertisements in the app and on our website. These partners may collect data such as device identifiers, usage patterns, and approximate location to serve and measure ads. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.
  • Service providers: trusted third parties who help us operate the service, such as email platforms (Brevo), analytics tools, and cloud hosting. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only as we instruct.
  • Legal authorities: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Praycer, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: if Praycer is acquired or merges with another company, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you before this happens.

Community content you choose to share (prayer requests, posts) is visible to other users of the app. Think of it as posting in a public prayer room โ€” be mindful of what you share.

05 Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud), with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We use authentication tokens, secure HTTPS connections, and regular security reviews.

No system is 100% secure. If we ever become aware of a breach that affects your personal data, we'll notify you promptly as required by applicable law.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion at any time.

06 Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time
  • Data portability โ€” receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
  • Object to certain uses of your data

UK and EU residents have these rights under GDPR and UK GDPR. To exercise any of them, email us at privacy@praycer.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

07 Cookies

Our website and app use cookies for several purposes. These include essential cookies necessary for the site to function, analytics cookies to help us understand how people use Praycer, and advertising cookies placed by our ad partners to serve and measure relevant ads.

When you first visit, we'll ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings or the cookie settings on our site. Note that disabling advertising cookies won't remove ads โ€” it means the ads you see will be less relevant to you.

08 Children

Praycer is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

09 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on our website. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised.

Continued use of Praycer after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
