PraycerPrivacy policy
Praycer is a prayer-walking app. Prayer is personal, so we’ve tried to write this in plain English. The short version: we collect what we need to run Praycer, we don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and you can export or delete your data at any time.
1. Who we are
Praycer is run by Tad Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16149007), with its registered office at 124-128 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX. We are the “controller” of your personal information under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Our ICO registration number is ZB994582.

2. What we collect
Information you give us

Information collected from your device
- Location (GPS), only if you allow it. While a walk is running, your phone’s GPS is used on your device to work out distance. We store the total distance only. We don’t store coordinates or a map of your route. You can refuse, or switch it off in your phone settings, and still use Praycer.
- Notification details, only if you allow reminders. A push address from Apple, Google or Mozilla that lets us send you reminders, plus your reminder times and preferences. We keep a log of reminders sent so we don’t send the same one twice.
- Basic technical data. Like any online service, our hosting and database providers see your IP address and device and browser type in server logs when you use Praycer. We use this for security and to keep the service running.
What we don’t collect
We don’t use advertising trackers or analytics cookies, and praycer.com has no analytics at all. We don’t sell or rent your data. We don’t read your private prayer notes.
3. Why we use your information

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we’ve weighed them against your rights and expectations. You can object at any time (see section 9).
4. Faith and other sensitive information
Because Praycer is a Christian prayer app, the fact that you use it, and what you write in notes, requests and posts, can reveal your religious beliefs. The law treats that as “special category data”. We process it only on the basis of your explicit consent, which we ask for when you sign up. If you withdraw consent, we won’t be able to run your account, so you would need to delete it (see Delete your account).
Be careful what you post publicly. Your prayer notes are private. Posts on the community prayer wall can be seen by other Praycer users. Please don’t share health details, addresses, or other people’s private information in a post.
Information about your weight, height and gender is used only to estimate calories and personalise your experience. We don’t use it for anything else and don’t share it with other users.
5. Who sees what
- Only you: your prayer notes, your walk history, your email, weight, height, age range and gender.
- Members of your circles: your name, whether you’ve walked today, your progress for the week, circle posts, replies and reactions. Never your notes.
- Other Praycer users: your first name (and the initial of your last name), and anything you post to the community prayer wall or reply to there.
- Whoever invited you, or whom you invited: that the invite was used and that a first walk was completed, for bonus points and badges.
- Praycer administrators: only what’s needed to review a report, remove harmful content, or help you with a support request.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect someone from serious harm, or if our business is sold or reorganised (in which case this policy would continue to protect your data).
6. Who helps us run Praycer
We use a small number of trusted providers (“processors”) who handle data only on our instructions:

We’ll update this list if it changes.
7. International transfers
Some of our providers are based in, or may access data from, countries outside the UK, including the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the UK adequacy regulations (including the UK–US data bridge, where the provider is certified) or on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and equivalent safeguards, so your data keeps a similar level of protection.
8. How long we keep it

Content you’ve posted to a circle or the community wall is removed with your account. Copies another person has made themselves, such as a screenshot, are outside our control.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy (access)
- correct anything that’s wrong
- delete your data (“erasure”)
- restrict how we use it
- move it to another service (portability)
- object to uses based on legitimate interests
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before
Most of this you can do yourself in the app: edit your details and export your walk history in Settings, switch reminders and news off, and delete your account. For anything else, email hello@praycer.com. We’ll reply within one month and won’t charge a fee. We may need to confirm it’s really you first.
10. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Our database uses row-level security so that each account can only read its own private data. Access to our systems is limited and protected. No online service is perfectly secure. If a breach is likely to put you at risk, we’ll tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
11. Age limit
Praycer is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think someone younger has an account, email us and we’ll remove it.
12. Cookies and local storage
praycer.com doesn’t use cookies, analytics or any third-party scripts or fonts, so there’s no cookie banner. The Praycer app stores a login session and your settings on your device so you stay signed in and the app works smoothly. These are strictly necessary for the service and are not used for advertising or tracking. You can clear them any time in your browser settings, though you’ll be signed out.
13. Changes to this policy
Praycer is changing as we build it. If we add something that affects your data, such as native apps, new integrations like Apple Health, paid plans or new features, we’ll update this page first. For material changes we’ll also tell you in the app or by email before they take effect, and ask for fresh consent where the law requires it. The date at the top shows when this page last changed.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.
